Chocolate Covered Almond Smoothie


This morning I was in need of the perfect post-workout smoothie that was thick, creamy, and perfect for muscle recovery. I love the subtle taste of almond butter in smoothies, and when you combine it with the rich flavor of dark chocolate, it truly becomes the perfect breakfast, snack, or even dessert. I highly recommend trying this smoothie after crushing a hard workout, or when you feel a sweet craving coming on. It definitely does the trick for me.

1 frozen banana
1 Tbsp almond butter (I used Justin's Maple)
1 Tbsp Cacao Powder
1 date
1/4 cup almond milk, or enough to make it blend smoothly (I used Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla)
1 Cup of ice
1 Tbsp dark chocolate chips for topping (I use Lily's)
